Movie Night

こんしゅうのもくようび(10/3)にムービーナイト(movie night)があります。
こんしゅうは、「ほたるのはか（Grave of fireflies)」です。

This Thursday(10/3), we have a movie night.

ムービーナイトのエッセイ（Movie Nights Essay)

We are showing 7 Japanese movies during this semester :)
You are required to go watch at least one movie, and write a short paragraph about it on your blog.

・You can either describe the movie or write what you think about the movie.
・Write at least 5 sentences in Japanese, then you can switch to English if you would like.
・Use as much grammar and vocabulary as possible. (Ex. 〜があります。〜をします。etc.）
・Complete the post by the weekend of the movie night.

Ghibli Movies

Starting Saturday, Debartolo Performing Arts Center is showing movies of Studio Ghibli. Two movies will screen: Porco Rosso is on Saturday and Pom Poko is on Sunday.

1. Write a brief　じこしょうかい in にほんご.
Please write your self-introduction in Japanese.
It should contain:
- at least 3 affirmative sentences (year in school, nationality, etc)
- at least 1 negative sentence
- at least one 「の」

2. Post in えいご
Introduce a Japanese person or object that you like/ know (song, movie, artist, food, store, place, history, art, etc.) in English. Please try to include picture(s)/ video(s).

3. Write comments
Please comment on the blogs of your classmates (at least three) in English. Try to use にほんご in your comment if you can.


* If you are to use にほんご that we haven't covered in class, please make sure to mention the English meanings, so your classmates will understand your post.

ひらがなビデオ

みなさん、ひらがなのれんしゅう(practice)は　どうですか？ How is your Hiragana practice going so far? Here is a video showing how to write ひらがな with a calligraphy brush and ink. Hopefully this will give you ideas how to make 'stop' 'release' and 'hook'. Spend your time practicing ひらがな this week!
